Muss die Demokratie verteidigt werden?<\/p>\n<p>An drei Abenden widmeten sich Forscher:innen des Exzellenzcluster SCRIPTS im Gespr\u00e4ch mit den Tagesspiegel-Journalist*innen Christoph D. Piorkowski oder Eva Mura\u0161ov diesen Fragen zur aktuellen Krise der Demokratie. Die Kurzgespr\u00e4che thematisierten interne ebenso wie externe Anfechtungen der Demokratie, neue Konflikte zwischen politischen Systemen, aber auch solche innerhalb der liberalen Ordnungen selbst: Denn nicht nur die von Putins Russland ausgehende Aggression oder autorit\u00e4re Nationalismen setzen Demokratien unter Druck. Diese Versch\u00e4rfung der Anfechtungen birgt die Gefahr, dass die Kritik am liberalen Skript in eine v\u00f6llige Ablehnung seiner Kernprinzipien umschl\u00e4gt.<\/p>\n<p>Das Exzellenzcluster <a class=\"external-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.humboldtforum.org\/de\/programm\/event\/film-video\/change-goes-on-in-hidden-places-139828\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">\u201eContestations of the Liberal Script (SCRIPTS)\u201c<\/a> ist ein interdisziplin\u00e4res Forschungskonsortium, das das Wesen, die Ursachen und die m\u00f6glichen Folgen der sich versch\u00e4rfenden Anfechtungen in einer globalen, vergleichenden und historischen Perspektive untersucht.<\/p>\n<p>SCRIPTS verwendet das Konzept des \u201eliberalen Skripts\u201c, um zu verstehen, wie und warum liberale Ideen und Institutionen zur Organisation von Gesellschaften trotz ihrer politischen, wirtschaftlichen und sozialen Errungenschaften und in Ermangelung einer attraktiven Alternative zunehmend unter Druck geraten sind. In einem n\u00e4chsten Schritt wird das Cluster untersuchen, wie widerstandsf\u00e4hig sich das liberale Skript gegen\u00fcber den sich versch\u00e4rfenden Anfechtungen zeigt: Wir wollen herausfinden, warum einige Varianten offenbar besser mit Kritik und Ablehnung umgehen k\u00f6nnen als andere.<\/p>\n<p>SCRIPTS ist ein Exzellenzcluster, das seit 2019 von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft gef\u00f6rdert wird. Es ist an der Freien Universit\u00e4t Berlin angesiedelt und umfasst sieben weitere Berliner Forschungseinrichtungen sowie 20 internationale Partner. Der Cluster kooperiert auch mit Institutionen und Akteuren aus Politik, Kultur und Zivilgesellschaft. Im Humboldt Labor war das Cluster u.a. an der Entwicklung der gro\u00dfformatigen Forschungswand
