En la actualidad, la presentaci\u00f3n de restos humanos en los museos suscita pol\u00e9micas. Romina Tello Astudillo de Beer y Carolina Pretell abordan este tema a partir del ejemplo del fardo de muertos expuesto en la sala \u00abAm Humboldtstrom\u00bb (sala 204). Hablan de la identidad cultural de los pueblos de la regi\u00f3n andina hist\u00f3rica, sus rituales funerarios y sus creencias, y discuten con los visitantes c\u00f3mo deben tratarse hoy los restos humanos.<\/p>\n<p>In the second half of the 19th century, mallqui, so-called mummy bundles from South America, were popular with European collectors. Today the presentation of human remains in museums leads to controversial discussions.
