Besitzen Objekte eine Autonomie? F\u00fcr <em>Objekte<\/em> <em>widersprechen<\/em> besch\u00e4ftigen sich Madeleine Thien und Rawi Hage mit diesen Fragen, indem sie zwei Objekte untersuchen, die \u00fcber Sammlungen der Turfan-Expeditionen (1902-1914) aus der Region der N\u00f6rdlichen Seidenstra\u00dfe (der heutigen Autonomen Region <span class=\"w-term-highlight\">Xinjiang<\/span>-Uigur) nach Berlin kamen: das Fragment eines in Uigur und Altt\u00fcrkisch verfassten manich\u00e4ischen Manuskripts; und eine Wandmalerei von \u201eDrei Uigurischen F\u00fcrsten\u201c, die zum Bau einer Grotte in den Tausend-Buddha-H\u00f6hlen von B\u00e4z\u00e4klik beitrugen.<\/p>\n<p>Die Schriftsteller*innen untersuchen gemeinsam die Welten, die\u00a0diese\u00a0transitorischen\u00a0Objekte in sich tragen. Ihre j\u00fcngsten Romane, Do Not Say We Have Nothing (2022) und Dogs at the Perimeter, befassen sich mit Kunst, Politik und Revolution in Kambodscha und China. Sie erhielt die beiden h\u00f6chsten literarischen Auszeichnungen Kanadas, den Giller Prize und den Governor-General&#8217;s Literary Award for Fiction, und ihre Werke kamen in die engere Auswahl f\u00fcr den Booker Prize, den Women&#8217;s Prize for Fiction und den Folio Prize und wurden in mehr als 25 Sprachen \u00fcbersetzt.
