Entworfen von einem Architektenteam um Jun Ura aus Kanazawa und verwirklicht unter Beteiligung von K\u00fcnstlern und Handwerkern aus Japan stellt das Teehaus sensible Bez\u00fcge zwischen der japanischen und deutschen Geschichte und Kultur her, indem die Au\u00dfenw\u00e4nde und das Dach aus rostrotem Cortenstahl die oktogonale Form der Turmruine der Berliner Kaiser-Wilhelm-Ged\u00e4chtniskirche als Mahnmal f\u00fcr den Frieden aufnehmen. Neben traditionellen Materialien wie handgesch\u00f6pftem Papier und lackiertem Holz dominieren moderne Baustoffe. Die Innenw\u00e4nde des Hauptraums sind mit acht traditionellen Reisstrohmatten (in Kyotoer Ma\u00df), die mit europ\u00e4ischem Lehm verkleidet wurden, ausgestattet.<\/p>\n<p>Das Teehaus besteht aus einem Vorbereitungsraum und dem Hauptraum, in dem die Teepraxis vollzogen wird [oder: Teezusammenk\u00fcnfte stattfinden].\u00a0 Hier befinden sich eine im Boden eingelassene Feuerstelle und eine Wandnische, in der herausragende Kunstwerke pr\u00e4sentiert werden.
