Ihr Name verweist auf Artikel 5 Absatz 3 des Grundgesetzes, in dem die Freiheit von Kunst und Wissenschaft garantiert wird. Daf\u00fcr braucht es eine \u00d6ffentlichkeit, die auf der Basis des Grundgesetzes kontroverse Debatten erm\u00f6glicht. Deshalb setzt sich die Initiative f\u00fcr Meinungsvielfalt ein. Weltoffenheit, wie wir sie verstehen, setzt voraus, das Anderssein als demokratische Qualit\u00e4t zu verstehen. Kunst und Bildung sind R\u00e4ume, in denen es darum geht, Ambivalenzen zu ertragen und abweichende Positionen zuzulassen.
