Opening of the exhibition: "It’s Our Construction Site Too!"

Over a period of several months 176 children and teenagers from eight Berlin schools carried out research, composed music, conducted interviews and took part in discussions to come to grips with the varied histories of the site.

At the opening of the exhibition It’s Our Construction Site Too! 176 Children Take over the Humboldt Forum on 14 October 2018 from 11am–5pm the Humboldt Forum invites curious minds to immerse themselves in eight fascinating installations developed by children and teenagers together with 29 artists to present a variety of playful perspectives on the past and future of this intriguing location on the Schlossplatz.

Opening ceremony. The director general of the Humboldt Forum, Hartmut Dorgerloh, and children’s presenter Eli Liam Nguyen Thanh chat with some of those involved in the project.
1.30–2 pm
Tours with curators Petra Larass and Barbara Falkner
(Meet at the bottom of the staircase leading to the second and third floors.)
3–4 pm
Concert of The Muckemacher (fourth floor)


1–2 pm
Sing along with a choir! The Klangschloss group sings a piece from the flute concert written by Frederick the Great – and all are welcome to join in! (third floor)
1–1:15 pm
Opening of The installation “Action: Open Space!” (third floor)
1–4 pm
Time machine – In this interactive game you can throw dice to make your way through the history of the site. (second floor)
1–4 pm
Sound wigs – You can compose a wig just like a symphony – let’s make wigs from paper. (third floor)
2–4 pm Palace game (second floor)
