The large corner cartouche

We welcome all donations towards the reconstruction of the Baroque facade, so that the new palace can allow Berlin to regain its historic(al) centre.

Soon to open at the most prestigious site in Berlin, the Humboldt Forum will serve as a centre for art, culture, science and education dedicated to the cultures of the world, perfectly complementing the other institutions on Museum Island. In the spirit of the Humboldt brothers’ ideals, the forum will provide inspiration for a holistic answer to the global issues we face in the twenty-first century.

The Humboldt Forum in the Berlin Palace will be a vibrant setting reflecting the tensions of the past as well as the future, tensions that also arise from the Baroque facade's interplay with the building’s modern contents. The Humboldt Forum will offer a platform for the most diverse topics, embracing culture, the sciences, politics and the economy. It is intended to be a place that brings people together and acts upon the stimulus provided by society.

After deciding in 2002 that the Berlin Palace would indeed be reconstructed, in 2007 the German parliament voted with a substantial majority to rebuild three of the facades and the Schlüterhof courtyard in a historically authentic style. The cost for reconstructing the Baroque facades amounts to € 105 million – a sum being raised by means of private donations.

We would be delighted to receive your donation towards the construction of the Humboldt Forum in the Berlin Palace. Your donation is tax deductible and 100 percent of the sum will help reconstruct the historical facades.

If you would like to donate from a European Country or the US in a tax effective way, please get in touch with us. We will be happy to provide the contact details of our partners from Transnational Giving and the King Baudouin Foundation.
