Jan Linders appointed head of programme

On 1 June 2019, Jan Linders will take up his post as the new head of programme at Stiftung Humboldt Forum im Berliner Schloss. Born in Hamburg, Linders has been chief dramaturge and deputy art director as well as officer in charge of international and intercultural issues since 2016 at Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe.

In Karlsruhe, Jan Linders initiated and managed numerous international coproductions with Timisoara (Romania), Bankgok (Thailand), Nancy (France), Tbilisi (Georgia) and, most recently, Porto Alegre (Brazil). The digital theatre productions he initiated with the Zentrum für Kunst und Medien (ZKM) continue to be featured at venues such as the ars electronica festival in Linz, Austria. Prior to that role, he was a theatre director at Staatstheater Karlsruhe (2011–2016) and Theater Heidelberg (2009–2011), where he also ran the Heidelberger Stückemarkt in 2010 and 2011 together with Israel and Turkey respectively as guest nations. Before that, he was active as a freelance curator from 2000 to 2009 in Berlin and abroad at institutions like the Sophiensäle, the Maxim Gorki Theatre and at HAU Hebbel am Ufer, and for individuals such as Chris Kondek, Lajos Talamonti, and Tobias Rausch. He served as dramaturge for the Ludwig Musical Project in Füssen, Germany, from 1995 to 2000 and at Hamburger Kammerspiele from 1992 to 1996.
