500 years ago, Albrecht von Hohenzollern, the last Grand Master of the Teutonic Order, paid homage to the Polish king. The events of 1525 also led to the establishment of the first Protestant state in Europe, which remained in a vassal relationship with the Polish kingdom until 1657.<\/p>\n

This conference will discuss the Polish-Prussian relationship from the establishment of the duchy to the partitions of Poland-Lithuania (1772-1795), in which Prussia played an active role, and beyond that, the age of nationalism. Seven panels, 16 lectures and a panel discussion will address four topics: constitutional and political connections, multi-denominational communities, local identity formation, and breaks and continuities in the politics of memory up to the present day.<\/p>\n

Celem konferencji jest bli\u017csze przyjrzenie si\u0119 stosunkom polsko-pruskim od utworzenia ksi\u0119stwa a\u017c do rozbior\u00f3w Rzeczypospolitej polski-litewskiej (1772-1795), w kt\u00f3rych Prusy odegra\u0142y aktywn\u0105 rol\u0119, i do czas\u00f3w nacjonalizmu. \u00a0Siedem paneli, 16 wyk\u0142ad\u00f3w i dyskusja panelowa skupi\u0105 si\u0119 na czterech obszarach tematycznych: powi\u0105zaniach konstytucyjno-politycznych, wsp\u00f3lnotach wielowyznaniowych, kszta\u0142towaniu to\u017csamo\u015bci lokalnej, a tak\u017ce zerwaniach i ci\u0105g\u0142o\u015bci w polityce pami\u0119ci do dnia dzisiejszego.<\/p>\n
