Filigree mural paintings strike the eye in the stair hall above Portal 1. The graphic elements are reminiscent of the architecture of the Berlin Palace and create a connection to the Baroque fa\u00e7ades of the Schl\u00fcter Courtyard. However, on closer inspection it becomes clear that these are not architectural shapes. Rather, the ornaments are inspired by objects that can also be seen in the adjoining exhibitions. They are outlines of masks, vessels and sculptures \u2013 outstanding exhibits from the collections of the Ethnologisches Museum (Ethnological Museum) and the Museum f\u00fcr Asiatische Kunst (Asian Art Museum). Visitors can look up the objects in books laid out in the stairwell.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n
