Poles<\/span> have lived in Berlin for centuries and shaped the cultural, social, political and economic life of the city. The Polish border is less than 100 kilometres away.<\/p>\n

And yet, the city\u2019s close ties with its neighbouring country<\/span> sometimes only become visible at a second glance<\/p>\n

The Open Space \u201cLiberty, Equality, Solidarno\u015b\u0107<\/a>\u201d[1] by\u00a0Ewa Maria Slaska, Anna Krenz und Jemek Jemowitin the BERLIN GLOBAL<\/a> exhibition looks at Berlin as a site of Polish struggles for freedom and against discrimination, as well as a place of dialogue and solidarity.<\/p>\n

As part of the opening, BERLIN GLOBAL invites you to a concert by genre-defying Polish sound artist and queer activist Mala Herba. Mala Herba is inspired by industrial and experimental electronic sounds as well as traditional Polish music. The performance will be followed by a set from Berlin-based DJ Paulina Panik, mixing post-punk and rock with electro and eclectic wave.<\/p>\n

[1] \u201cWolno\u015b\u0107, R\u00f3wno\u015b\u0107, Solidarno\u015b\u0107\u201d (Liberty, Equality, Solidarity) was a slogan used by striking shipyard workers in Gdansk in August 1980, who later formed the Solidarno\u015b\u0107 trade union. This succinct and powerful variation of the historical slogan of the French Revolution can still be heard today at pro-democracy protests in Poland.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n
