Linguistic and cultural diversity characterizes families in Germany. More and more children are growing up multilingual and come from diverse cultural backgrounds. The daycare center is often the first social place where this diversity becomes visible – as a space for encounters, understanding and learning together.<\/p>\n

Multilingualism and cultural diversity are educational opportunities. They require attentive adults who avoid stereotypical ways of thinking, are curious about different educational backgrounds and actively facilitate participation. Understanding – literally and figuratively – is the basis for successful educational partnerships.<\/p>\n

So how can nursery school teachers, museum educators and everyone else deal appropriately with the different linguistic and cultural skills of children? How can we promote multilingualism as a resource and counteract racism? These are the questions addressed by the symposium, which was jointly organized by the Humboldt Forum Foundation and Fr\u00f6bel e.V.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n
