Wolfram Weimer recently painted a bleak picture at the book fair. AI could \u201ctear apart\u201d the world of literature, said the Minister of State for Culture in Frankfurt. He considers the actions of tech companies from China and the US to be \u201cintellectual vampirism.\u201d<\/p>\n

The publicist and publisher has been in office since May 2025.<\/p>\n

His goal is to introduce a digital tax to finance the creative and media landscape. He has his sights set on internet companies such as Google and Meta.<\/p>\n

The Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media also expressed criticism of public broadcasting. He said the broadcasters appeared to be \u201cleft-leaning.\u201d<\/p>\n

Weimer has also had to take some flak himself. In the cultural sector, some consider him too inexperienced and \u201cideological.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before taking up his political office, the publicist was a frequent guest on political programs, including \u201cStudio 9 \u2013 Der Tag mit…\u201d (Studio 9 \u2013 The Day with…).<\/p>\n
