EUROPEAN PREMIERE<\/p>\n

A family celebration for everyone: Brazilian artist Tetembua Dandara celebrates her transcontinental family history spanning four generations of women. She does so in conversation with her grandmother Dirce Poli, her mother Neuza Poli, and her sister Mafoane Odara.<\/p>\n

The audience is invited into a space reminiscent of the grandmother’s living room, a Brazilian backyard, or even a party from the 1990s. Here, the stories are reconstructed through voices, smells, tastes and glances, and the audience is free to move through the rooms and stories, eating, drinking, and dancing.<\/p>\n

The work is based on a photo book that contains empty (and black) spaces and creates a dialogue between images and a few words. She also created this book together with Dirce and Neuza Poli and Mafoane Odara.<\/p>\n
