Beneath the self-empowering banners of the Ghanaian artist Na Chainkua Reindorf<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, all visitors are invited to become active participants themselves. At workshop tables set up directly beneath the installation, people of all ages can draw, paint, and develop their own ideas of self-determination and future family roles. The process is guided by templates specially designed by the artist for this participatory experience.<\/p>\n

In the foyer of the Humboldt Forum<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, seven large-scale banners are on display, inspired by West African masquerades, Asafo flags, and vibrant Kente textiles. Each banner depicts a powerful female figure\u2014a \u201cskin\u201d or glanu<\/em>, part of the fictional secret society Mawu Nyonu (\u201cGod Is a Woman\u201d). These avatars embody different transformative forces that invite viewers to question and reimagine societal role models.<\/p>\n

The workshop encourages participants to engage creatively with questions of identity, self-empowerment, and familial belonging\u2014entirely in the spirit of the artist, whose banners open up spaces for new narratives.<\/p>\n
