The \u201cMilliy Meros\u201d (National Heritage) ensemble presents a concert programme featuring traditional music from Uzbekistan, offering the audience an authentic insight into the vibrant musical culture of Central Asia.<\/p>\n

All of the performing artists are members of the State Philharmonic Orchestra. They regularly represent Uzbekistan at official events and international cultural festivals.<\/p>\n

The programme includes traditional karnay and surnay melodies, classical maqom singing traditions, regional folk songs from Bukhara, and virtuoso percussion performances on the doira and qayroq.<\/p>\n

Cultural context<\/h4>\n

The Uzbek musical tradition is characterised by centuries-old courtly and folk influences. Instruments such as the karnay and surnay are closely associated with public celebrations, while maqom singing is one of the most sophisticated forms of classical music in Central Asia.<\/p>\n

The concert therefore offers not only musical performances, but also an encounter with cultural identity, historical continuity and contemporary interpretations of traditional art forms.<\/p>\n
