Online games, apps and mobile phones \u2013 and knowing when to stop<\/strong><\/p>\n

Come on, put that mobile away! Online games, apps and how we use them are the number one topic of discussion and argument in many families. They constantly interrupt us and keep us from doing things that are actually worthwhile. Often we\u2019re sitting together in the same room, but everyone\u2019s staring at their own screen. It\u2019s so annoying!<\/p>\n

But isn\u2019t it also brilliant fun to play games with friends, send emojis or stickers to your best friend, watch a funny video or even make a little film yourself? And, after all, you can always catch up with Kakadu via your smartphone and the podcast app.<\/p>\n

When does being online make sense, and when is it enough? Or too much? And why are some apps so addictive that it\u2019s twice as hard to stop using them? Should we just ban everything straight away? Or are there other ways to make children\u2019s media use better?<\/p>\n

Today we\u2019re talking about smartphones, apps, gaming and being online \u2013 for young and old alike. Because when it comes to children and media use, adults also need to ask themselves when they\u2019re setting a good example, and which of their own rules they\u2019d never follow themselves. And, above all, when they actually take the time to really listen to the children. What are you actually playing online, with whom, and why?<\/p>\n
