For many communities, rocks are their grandmothers \u2013 beings that preserve the voices of time in their silence. For years, sound artist Leonel V\u00e1squez has been listening to these voices, making their hidden vibrations audible.<\/p>\n<p data-renderer-start-pos=\"11167\" data-local-id=\"836a84cdfa0e\">In <em data-renderer-mark=\"true\">The Song of the Grandmothers<\/em>, the sounds of water and stone come together. Through rotation and amplification, the vibrations of rocks become audible, merging with instruments that translate the movements and currents of water into sound. He creates listening devices, spaces, and experiences as political, aesthetic, somatic, and regenerative acts. His work explores more-than-human sonic agencies, including water, trees, rocks, whales, and milk. His interests include recognizing nature as a victim of Colombia\u2019s armed conflict and promoting the symbolic restoration of rivers and forests. He fosters relational listening practices and affective communities to create acoustic agreements. His research focuses on cosmo-resonances, singing in interspecies care, and acoustic-poetic restoration. He leads the cultural biocentre Estaci\u00f3n de Escucha de Alta Monta\u00f1a in the Sumapaz p\u00e1ramo, a place dedicated to dialoguing with living beings and paying tribute to
