Are borders becoming more permeable in the age of globalisation? What are smart borders? Sociologist Steffen Mau shows how new walls and militarised border crossings are now being built in many places. Nowhere is the Janus face of globalisation more evident than at 21st century borders.<\/span><\/p>\n
