Eye-to-Eye introduction by Chalida Uamumrungjit, director of the Thai Film Archive<\/em><\/p>\n

This landmark in Thai film history was produced shortly after the beginning of World War II as an urgent appeal for peace.\u00a0 Disguised as a period drama set in 16th century, it was the quarrel over a white elephant which almost sparked of a war between Thailand and it’s neighboring country Hongsa, today’s Myanmar.\u00a0A royal cinematogrphic tribute to the majestic animal,\u00a0 hardly to be surpassed. The original version was shot in English with Thai subtitles and addressed Thai audiences as well as the international community.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n
