Through an exploration of traditional objects provided by the Australian curators – including boomerangs, stone axes and kangaroo skins – the young people first explore the exhibition. Afterwards, they draw, paint or dance their own songline together. In the manner of the artworks shown in the exhibition, they transfer experiences of their journey from home to the Humboldt Forum into a cartography that does without writing. Waymarks, intersections, danger points, dependence on external influences such as the nature of the ‘city as a natural space’ are thus creatively transferred into a picture.<\/p>\n

Investigating, playfully and together, the young people try out forms of expression of indigenous communities that embody knowledge handed down from generation to generation. For themselves, they open up dimensions of a perception that shapes their own everyday lives, but is usually not explicitly addressed.<\/p>\n
