As a Professor she teaches disciplines related to the various aspects of the phenomenon of music and its roles and functions in the life of people of her native\u00a0<span class=\"w-term-highlight\">country<\/span>, Ukraine, and the other world cultures, the East including.<\/p>\n<p>Her pedagogical activity is strongly connected to her scholarly interests, the main area of which encompass music and widely interpreted identity, music and ethnic minority. In addition to Dr. Kolomyyets\u2019 main pedagogical and scholarly occupation, she is professionally affiliated with the International Council for Traditional Music (ICTM) as a member (since 2007) and a Liaison Officer (since 2012). Dr. Olha Kolomyyets is a Fulbright Scholar. She conducted her Fulbright research project at the University of Chicago in 2015-2016 with prof. Philip Bohlman being her project faculty advisor. She was born in Ivano-Frankivsk. After school graduation she moved to Lviv to study drama at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Faculty of Culture and Arts, which she graduated in 2004. Maria also has a qualification in phycology. A resident actor at Les Kurbas Academic Theatre of Lviv for last 16 years. Lead singer at ethno-band\u00a0<em>Kurbasy<\/em>\u00a0since 2009. He is a disciple of such renowned kobzars as Mykola Budnyk and Taras Kompanichenko. For twenty years Yaroslav Krysko was a member and one of the singers at the National Academic Men\u2019s Choral Chapel\u00a0<em>Dudaryk<\/em>. Since 2008 he has been a member (<em>bratchyk<\/em>) of Kyiv Kobzar Guild as well as the initiator and founder of Lviv Guild of Lirnyks and
