The filmmaker Onyeka Igwe has developed a language to work with the sensitive and often racist material of audio\/visual ethnographic documentation. By using auto-fictional elements, repetition and deformations, movement and rhythms, she raises questions how to approach the colonial past and how to engage with it critically and ethically whilst making multiple narratives visible.<\/p>\n

The three films\u00a0Specialised Technique, the names have changed, including my own and truths have been altered<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0No Archive Can Restore You<\/em>\u00a0will be screened in front of the showcases presenting so called ethnographic objects. Onyeka Igwe shows a deep\u00a0engagement\u00a0and emphatic approaches in her editing techniques dealing with colonial archives, colonial violence and lost narratives. By using movement and\u00a0rhythms\u00a0the films contrast the static presentation of the objects and meld\u00a0together colonial histories\u00a0with\u00a0personal memories\u00a0to\u00a0continue\u00a0a forgotten\u00a0and sometimes impossible\u00a0dialogue.<\/p>\n
