Countless climate images are in circulation on the web, such as burning globes, polar bears and photographs of climate impacts worldwide. These images are networked and generate a specific view of climate change.<\/p>\n

In their project presentation, media scholar Birgit Schneider and design researcher <\/span>Paul Heinicker focuse on an intercultural image comparison based on Google Image queries. The core question addressed is the manner in which art historical methods, such as iconography and the concept of visual framing, are transformed when working with computer-generated methods of computer vision and machine learning to analyse image similarities.<\/p>\n
