Gonzalo Rodriguez is a young visiting scholar from Cusco, Peru, who specialises in music archaeology — a topic he has been researching for 10 years. In 2021, he studied the flute collection of the Ethnological Museum in Berlin and built replicas of flutes from ancient Peru. During his research, he has also learned to play many flutes.<\/p>\n

In this guided tour, Gonzalo Rodriguez will play some of his replicas, including quenas, an ancient type of longitudinal flute, as well as Antara’s pan flutes, talk about music in the Inca Empire and in other late antique cultures, and report on his research in Berlin. He will also answer questions from the audience.<\/p>\n

The tour will be in English. Questions in German and Spanish will also be possible.<\/p>\n
