Today, it is a union of weavers, artists, and activists, the <em>Union Textiles Semillas\u00a0<\/em>(a collective of female weavers, artists, and activists from Northern Argentina), bringing together around 300 weavers from twelve groups of weavers from northern Argentina. This union, initiated by intergenerational groups of women within the framework of the <em>Textiles Semillas<\/em> project, proposes new ways of doing and learning collectively and interculturally. This approach takes shape in the creation of collective works where meanings are reassembled and cohabitation becomes a conscious practice.<\/p>\n<p>In the first stage of <em>Textiles Semillas<\/em>, in early 2023, a series of journeys called pilgrimages were carried out. During these travels through mountains, valleys, and ravines, the communities of the groups invited to be part of this initiative were visited: Randeras de El Cercado (Monteros, Tucum\u00e1n), Warmipura (Taf\u00ed del Valle, Tucum\u00e1n), Cooperativa La Pachamama (Amaicha del Valle, Tucum\u00e1n), Tejedoras de Quilmes (Quilmes, Tucum\u00e1n), Tinku Kamayu (Santa Mar\u00eda, Catamarca), Mercedes Cardozo de Achalay Tejidos (Niogasta, Simoca, Tucum\u00e1n), Teleras de Atamisqui (Atamisqui, Santiago del Estero), Teleras de Huilla Catina (Huilla Catina, Santiago del Estero), Tejedores Andinos (Huacalera, Jujuy), Flor en Piedra (Caspal\u00e1, Jujuy), Flor de Altea (Santa Ana, Jujuy), and Sil\u00e4t (Santa Victoria Este, Salta). Curators Andrei Fern\u00e1ndez and Alejandra Mizrahi coordinated the in-person events in Argentina and the communication with and among the weaver collectives.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n                <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"row margin-bottom-sixth\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xs-12 col-md-offset-2 col-md-8\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"box\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<read-more inline-template>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"copy margin-bottom-sixth\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div ref=\"body\" style=\"height:0;overflow: hidden;display: none;\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"margin-bottom-sixth\"><p><em>Textiles Semillas<\/em> opens a space for exchange, both on the actual techniques and the ceremonial dimension of weaving \u2013 an activity that demands the knowledge of complex patterns that translate into movements reminiscent of a choreography, while also being intrinsically linked to notions of embodiment, territory, and materiality.<\/p>\n<p>Like a seedling that comes alive and grows into a plant embodies change and movement, our proposal is to think about links between different worlds, new ways of collaboration, of harboring and enabling desires, of growing through unity. Within this union, an intercultural research group has formed, comprising individuals who fulfill the role of &#8220;sembradoras&#8221; (span. Sowers or planters), caring for and supporting the growth of <em>Textiles Semillas<\/em>: Gabriela Cisterna, Celeste Valero, Milagros Colodrero, Fernanda Villagra Serra, Claudia Alarc\u00f3n, Anabel Luna, Carla Abiles, Tatiana Beltomonte, Clara Johnston, Santiago Azzati, Victoria Pastrana, Alina Bardavid, Alvaro Simon Padr\u00f3s. Some of the sembradoras are also representatives of the weaver groups.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a ref=\"toggleButton\" class=\"Button\" She has curated several visual arts exhibitions in museums, galleries, and independent spaces in Argentina, Germany, Paraguay, Portugal, and the UK. She coordinated the exhibition project <em>La escucha y los vientos<\/em> presented at ifa-Galerie in Berlin (2020), at the Museo de Bellas Artes in Salta, and at the Museo del Barro\/Fundaci\u00f3n Migliorisi in Asunci\u00f3n (2021). She was the curator of the 110th <em>Sal\u00f3n Nacional de Artes Visuales<\/em> at the Palais de Glace, organized by the Argentine Ministry of Culture (2022). She completed a curatorial residency at the Delfina Foundation, London, with a grant from the Bridges Programme of the Argentine Embassy in the UK and the Anglo-Argentine Society (2023). She accompanies the weavers&#8217; collective of the Wich\u00ed people, Sil\u00e4t which are presented in the 60<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0International Exhibition of la Biennale di Venezia. She works with Cecilia Brunson Projects gallery, with the<em> 99 Questions<\/em> programme, and is part of FACT, Fundaci\u00f3n para el Arte Contempor\u00e1neo de Tucum\u00e1n. Currently, Michael is a curator and scientific advisor at the Humboldt Forum in Berlin. In this role, he leads the para-institutional project<em> 99 Questions.<\/em> This artistic-research initiative encompasses a rich array of research nodes, gatherings, workshops, talks, residencies, podcasts, and more. It brings together an inspiring group of artists, thinkers, and practitioners including Chao Tayiana Maina, Molemo Moiloa, Ciraj Rassool, Denilson Baniwa, Gabriela do Matos, Hadji Malick Ndiaye, Macarena G\u00f3mez-Barris, Magdalena Campos-Pons, Malcom Ferdinand, Oulimata Gueye, Temi Odumosu, The Nest Collective, Zo\u00e9 Samudzi, Claudia Alarc\u00f3n and Sil\u00e4t, and Rolando V\u00e1zquez, among others. As a curator, Michael has worked with or contributed to projects at institutions such as the GRASSI Museum in Germany, Whitworth Art Gallery in the UK, DocsDF Film Festival in Mexico, Delfina Foundation in the UK, or MUAC Mexico City, among others. He taught seminars at the University of Vienna and the Latin American Institute at the Freie Universit\u00e4t Berlin.
