In this open workshop, you can bring textiles and old clothes to repair, alter, or create something new. Be inspired by the exhibitions, themes, and exhibits in the building—and strike up conversations with others while sewing, mending, and designing together. Whether alone, with your best friend, family, or roommates: at the sustainable sewing hub in the workshops, you can get creative with needles, thread, and sewing machines and support each other. An instructor will help you develop project and design ideas and, if necessary, assist you with operating the sewing machines.

Please note:
Children under the age of 14 usually need assistance from their adult companions. It’s best to think of something you want to do together as a family!
If you have no experience with a sewing machine, please allow a little extra time on your first visit to get to know the machine, as there is only one instructor on site.

In the Humboldt Forum's foyer there is a 17 meter high media tower, called "cosmograph". It gives visitors comprehensive information about their visit and can transform into an art and light installation.
