Call for Participation

As part of the Europe-wide Code Week, the Humboldt Forum Foundation at the Berlin Palace, the Berlin Public Library Association and the Code Week Regio Hub Berlin are once again jointly organizing an event at the Humboldt Forum in 2024.

On Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., a free, public hands-on festival will take place where visitors of all ages can discover and try out educational activities on digital topics at many different stations: Children can train robots in soccer, young people can design and print their own 3D objects and adults can try their hand at retro gaming.

For this “Coding Fair”, institutions, initiatives and organizations are invited to participate with a small, open hands-on offer from the fields of coding, hacking and making. Ideas and formats with content or methodological relevance to the overarching and current focus topics of the Humboldt Forum in 2024 are particularly welcome: history and architecture of the site/Palace of the Republic, coloniality and colonialism, Humboldt brothers, languages, dialog with the global South. If possible, the offers should be available in German and English.

As no entrance fees are charged, unfortunately no fees can be paid. However, organizations and initiatives can apply for individual financial support to implement the formats via “Meet and Code”. Further information can be found here.

We look forward to receiving your suggestions at makerspace@humboldtforum.org
