Hans-Dieter Hegner

Hans-Dieter Hegner served as the Board Member responsible for construction at the Stiftung Humboldt Forum im Berliner Schloss from May 2016 to June 2025. Prior to this, the civil engineer headed a division at the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development (Bundesministerium für Verkehr, Bau und Stadtentwicklung).

Surrounded by protective hedges, botanical tableaux develop with the seasons to represent three vegetation zones, analogous to the three continents of Eurasia, South America and North America visited by Alexander von Humboldt.
