Celebrate your birthday at the Ethnological Museum in the Humboldt Forum and experience a day full of imagination, exciting stories, and creativity! Together with your friends, you will spend a very special birthday at the museum.

During an inspiring visit to the exhibition, you will learn exciting facts about the First Nation Kwakwakaʼwakw from Canada, who have been carving elaborate masks for generations that can be opened and transformed into animal and human forms. What stories do these masks tell? What significance did they have in the past and what significance do they have today? And what can we learn from indigenous peoples about the balance of sharing?

In the TRANSFORMERS workshop, you will become artists yourselves: using cardboard and colorful paper, you will create mysterious, transformable masks that you can use to slip into new roles. Each child will take home their self-made mask as a reminder of the power of giving.

In the Humboldt Forum's foyer there is a 17 meter high media tower, called "cosmograph". It gives visitors comprehensive information about their visit and can transform into an art and light installation.
