Water and earth are living elements—and we depend on them. Our bodies are largely made up of water, and every day we walk across the earth’s diverse layers. Rivers and land nourish us; we care for, use, or pollute habitats.
During an interactive tour of the current special exhibition, students encounter different perspectives on the resources of water and earth. In their minds, they travel between the Spree and the Amazonas, the Lausitz and the Congo, Berlin and Singapore.
In a playful way, they connect their own everyday experiences with questions that concern people all over the world: Who owns water and land? What is our relationship to water and earth, and how do we treat the environment?
Water and earth beings accompany them as they explore the artworks in the exhibition and engage in creative activities: At the end, they work together to create a water snake for the classroom or craft small earth beings that can accompany them in their daily lives.
