Family concerns us all. It is ever-present, yet experienced and lived in very different, personal ways. Family relationships touch countless areas of life. They influence us—consciously or unconsciously, whether we like it or not.
In the Consultation hour series, we invite speakers who, in their professional lives, deal with family-related challenges, whose biographies are closely interwoven with the concept of family, or who explore alternative forms of living together. And since all of us have something to say about family, we enter into conversation with them—about questions that shape everyday life and are often not so easy to answer, as well as topics to which one rarely gains such direct access.
Consultation hour is a relaxed, direct, and intimate conversational format. Each talk begins with a 5–10 minute introduction by the speaker, followed by an open exchange with the audience. Dialogue and the audience’s questions take center stage.
