The Palace Bar is the format within the programme “Blown Away. The Palace of the Republic” for informal discussions and artistic interventions. It combines debate and art around the theme of the Palace of the Republic. Academics meet writers, musicians meet publicists and DJs meet sparkling drinks.

We ask ourselves questions: How do we receive, tell and see the legacy of the GDR today? And how is Berlin changing – through displacement to the outskirts, the demolition of landmark buildings and the commercialization of public space? What can we learn today, 35 years after the fall of the Wall, from the example of the Palace of the Republic as an important chapter of change? These and other questions will be posed in the PalastBar and circled around in conversations, poetry, songs and much more, washed down with drinks.

In the Humboldt Forum's foyer there is a 17 meter high media tower, called "cosmograph". It gives visitors comprehensive information about their visit and can transform into an art and light installation.
