The Ghanaian Fra Fra sensation Florence Adooni is back at DURCHLÜFTEN and delivers a vibrant fusion of Kumasi highlife, spiritual jazz, and infectious rhythms on her highly anticipated international debut, A.O.E.I.U. (An Ordinary Exercise In Unity). Backed by an eight-piece ensemble of top highlife musicians from Kumasi and produced by longtime collaborator Max Weissenfeldt (Philophon Records), the album radiates joy, energy, and masterful musicianship.
Spanning seven tracks, A.O.E.I.U. seamlessly blends intricate guitar melodies, syncopated grooves, horn fanfares, and rich vocal harmonies. From the shimmering highlife of Mam Pe’ela Su’ure to the dancefloor-ready Vocalize My Luv, the spiritual jazz explorations of the title track, and the Ethiopian-inspired Otoma Da Naba, the album is a dynamic journey through Florence’s signature sound – uplifting, powerful, and deeply rooted in tradition.
