As a prelude to a series of events on contemporary art and design in the Benin galleries, Adeju Thompson will speak about Lagos Space Programme (LSP). LSP was established by him as an experimental and collaborative project between art and design. His lecture will address, among other things, the archival and transformational aspects of his practice as well as its underlying collaboration with adire dyers and brass casters from Benin City. In a retrospective, he ties his current artistic practice to an aesthetic of decolonization that also informed the works of Nigerian architect Demas Nwoko.

The lecture and the talk will be held in English.
