In cooperation with the Syrian community in several countries, the Ethnologisches Museum of the Staatliche MUseen zu Berlin Berlin has been conducting participatory research on the museum’s Syria collection since the end of 2017. A committee that meets regularly in Berlin has since realized numerous events at different locations in Germany. From June 3, 2021 to September 5, 2021, the exhibition From … To … Zarkashat Turathia presented the results of this collaboration.

This year, the committee has initiated new collaborations with different Syrian artists from Germany and the Netherlands. Based on the Syrian objects in the collection of the Ethnologisches Museum, new artworks were produced, which will be presented by the participating artists in the event “Cultural Heritage and Light”.
