Record collector and music nerd Chris Menist is an author, DJ, musician and music archaeologist at the same time. Together with his DJ partner Maft Sai (ZudRangMa Records), he has been hosting the “Paradise Bangkok Nights” series for years, playing Asian vintage rarities side by side with the finest records from Africa and the Caribbean. The duo has toured Japan, Switzerland, Austria, France and the UK and also host regular radio shows on NTS Radio and for BBC6.
To mark their three-year anniversary, they have now launched the “Paradise Bangkok” label, which reissues little-known music from Asia and Africa.
