This year at DURCHLÜFTEN we invite the independent label honiunhoni, and the work of Daniyal Ahmed, the Karachi-based musician, ethnomusicologist and founder of the label. The label’s name loosely translates as “impossible possibilities” — unexpected musical encounters that open new worlds of listening.
Lyla Saifi is a DJ and producer whose Boiler Room set resonated far beyond borders. Having lived in eight countries — from Thailand to Tanzania — she now calls Karachi, Pakistan home, where she has become a vital presence in the city’s evolving music scene. Her genre-fluid sets unfold like audio diaries, blending global influences into intimate, emotionally charged dancefloor storytelling shaped by movement, migration, and lived experience.
