Toun is a woman of firm conviction, a church usher married with four children. Toun always knows best, is always right, and keeps everyone on their toes with the tasks she assigns! However, her facade begins to falter at a wedding of all places, causing massive chaos in the huge family… Oversabi Aunty is a fast-paced, dramatic comedy about Toun a Yoruba woman married to an Igbo man, living together under one roof in present-day Lagos. Toyin Abraham serves as the film’s lead actress, director, producer, and screenwriter all in one: perhaps the combination of all these roles were necessary to bring to life such a powerful and deeply moving dramedy that strips away the masks of religious hypocrisy to expose a family wrestling with the fine line between faith and blind fanaticism.
