However, her facade begins to falter at a wedding of all places, causing massive chaos in the huge family… Oversabi Aunty is a fast-paced, dramatic comedy about Toun, a Yoruba woman married to an Igbo man, living together under one roof in present-day Lagos. Toyin Abraham serves as the film’s lead actress, director, producer, and screenwriter all in one: perhaps the combination of all these roles were necessary to bring to life such a powerful and deeply moving dramedy that strips away the masks of religious hypocrisy to expose a family wrestling with the fine line between faith and blind fanaticism.

Toyin Abraham is an award-winning Nigerian actress, filmmaker, and producer renowned for her contributions to Nollywood and her consistent box-office success. In Oversabi Aunty, she serves as the writer, director, producer, and lead actress, portraying Toun, a well-meaning but overly intrusive woman whose actions disrupt her family and community. The film marks Abraham’s directorial debut and showcases her ability to blend comedy with meaningful social commentary. Oversabi Aunty achieved remarkable commercial success, surpassing 1 billion Naira at the West African box office and becoming the first Nollywood directorial debut to reach this milestone.
Olachi Opara designs human experiences that help people grow and connect. Her background spans languages, literature, cultural studies, and the sociocultural dynamics of borders, a foundation that shaped how she approaches her work.
She currently works as a Learning & Development Event Specialist at BCG, where she leads the largest training program in Central Europe. Outside of corporate work, she is also a visual artist, design enthusiast, speaker and creative event series curator. Alongside this, she is the founder of Opportunities for African Women, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering African women, and she volunteers with the Nigerian community in Berlin, where she designs, curates, and moderates events.
Her previous work experiences have been in lecturing, event management, and internal and external communications, public affairs, and public relations across academia, corporate, and international organizations.
Whether she’s organizing corporate learning events or curating creative community gatherings, her passion lies in transforming ordinary moments into purposeful, memorable experiences that ignite positive change.
