The license plates of the fat cars that QUEEN LATEEFAH “borrows” from her childhood friend’s garage for business trips proudly display the motto of the megacity of Lagos: “Centre of Excellence”. Lateefah more than lives up to this reputation: she is an up-and-comer who, thanks to her intelligence, self-confidence and quick-wittedness as a businesswoman, wants to make it from the bottom to the top. More precisely: from the slum where she lives with her mother and sister to the think tank of the advertising agency of Jide, the city’s most sought-after bachelor. Using business strategies that are not entirely legal, but all the smarter for it, she manages to make a spectacular entrance into the company. But Jide is surrounded by women who jealously watch over him and his fortune and immediately become suspicious…
This romantic comedy is perhaps also so successful in Nigeria because it bows to the quick humor and exquisite wit for which Lagos is famous. The necessary accessories to expose these skills in everyday business life, such as spectacular fashion and extravagant furniture, are skillfully staged for the screen.

Rahama Sadau (born December 7, 1993, in Kaduna) is an award-winning Nigerian actress, producer, and entrepreneur. She rose to prominence in 2013 with her debut in the Kannywood film Gani ga Wane and quickly became one of the few actors to successfully cross over into Hausa-language (Kannywood), English-language (Nollywood), and Hindi-language (Bollywood) films. She speaks fluent Hausa and English, with a working knowledge of Hindi.
Rahama gained national and international acclaim through her performances in the Netflix series WAR and the acclaimed social drama MTV Shuga Naija. Her diverse filmography includes Up North, Tatu, Chief Daddy, Hakkunde, Postcards, A Lot Like Love, Mati a Zazzau, The Plan, and Baddo—many of which are streaming on Netflix. She also appeared in Khuda Haafiz Chapter 2 alongside Bollywood star Vidyut Jammwal, and made her Hollywood debut in American King following an invitation from global music icon Akon.
As a producer, Rahama founded Sadau Pictures and Deedee Films, the latter known for Netflix hits like The Plan (No. 1 trending for four weeks), A Lot Like Love, and Sadau Sisters (on Showmax). Mati a Zazzau, one of her standout productions, was the first Hausa-language film featured on Netflix.
She has received numerous awards, including Best Actress (Kannywood) at the City People Awards (2014, 2015) and Best African Actress at the African Film Awards (2015). In 2016, she was named Face of Kannywood. With millions of followers and fans across Africa, the diaspora, and parts of the Middle East and Europe, Rahama Sadau is a leading voice in contemporary African cinema.
Charles Inojie is a Nigerian filmmaker, actor, writer, and director, best known for his role as “Mr. Johnson” in The Johnsons, one of Africa’s most popular family sitcoms. His portrayal of the comedic and stern father figure made him a household name across the continent.
A graduate of the University of Port Harcourt, where he earned a degree in Theatre Arts and a Certificate in Acting, Inojie began his professional career in 2000. Since then, he has built a diverse and influential body of work in Nollywood, spanning comedy and drama.
Beyond The Johnsons, his notable film appearances include The Trade, My Village People, Sweet Poison, His Holiness, Corporate Maid, Gen-Z Inlaw, Divided Nations, and Accidental Romance, among many others. He is known for his versatility, strong comic timing, and commanding screen presence.
In addition to his creative work, he is the founder of the Charles Inojie Foundation (CIF), which supports rural communities through clean water, healthcare, and education initiatives.
Charles Inojie remains one of Nollywood’s most enduring and celebrated comedic voices.
Alex Usifo is a veteran Nigerian actor whose career began in the 1970s. He rose to national fame in 1988 through his iconic role as Talaab Abass in Zeb Ejiro’s NTA network soap opera Ripples. With his commanding baritone and intense performance style, Usifo became widely recognized for playing complex villainous characters—roles that audiences both feared and admired.
Before entering the spotlight, he worked with NTA Benin’s technical crew during FESTAC ’77 and studied Mass Communication at the University of Lagos. His early passion for performance led him to audition widely, often excelling despite systemic setbacks.
Usifo’s career predates Nollywood’s rise. He performed in major stage plays such as Awero (Larry Williams) and Our Husband Has Gone Mad Again! (Ola Rotimi), and featured in radio plays and photoplays. He later founded Silver and Gold Productions, a modeling agency that helped launch the careers of several notable Nigerian models.
He holds a B.A. from Ambrose Alli University, an M.A. in Social Work from LAUTECH, and earned a Ph.D. in Information Resources Management from Babcock University. He has won numerous local and international awards and remains an active and respected figure in the Nigerian film industry.
