On the opening weekend, curators from Dar es Salaam and Berlin will guide visitors through the exhibition. They will shed light on the origin stories of the exhibits, address questions of restitution and provide insights into the exhibition’s creation processes. The exhibition also features film interviews with community representatives from Tanzania. Works by East African artists critically reflect the colonial gaze. Short films by students from Dar es Salaam and Berlin reflect on urban traces of colonialism. What stories do the cultural artefacts tell? Which stories remain untold or unheard – and why? What significance do cultural belongings have for people in Tanzania and where does their future lie?

In the Humboldt Forum's foyer there is a 17 meter high media tower, called "cosmograph". It gives visitors comprehensive information about their visit and can transform into an art and light installation.
