If science is queen at Humboldt Lab, then #Logoskop is her court jester. Since 2021, artistic freedom has been making monthly appearances at Humboldt University’s exhibition space, using literature to shake up the scientific perspective. Equipped with microphones and amplifiers, two slam poets wander through the exhibition and recite texts.

This time, slam poets Annika Blanke and Leander Bauer will be joining us. Together, they will comment on the exhibition ‘On Water’ with live recitations. Visitors are invited to accompany them on their tour of eloquence.

Annika Blanke

For over fifteen years, the Oldenburg slam poet and cabaret artist has been performing on various stages throughout the German-speaking world, captivating audiences with her clever lyrics and unique style of presentation. She is co-founder of the Oldenburg reading stage METROPHOBIA and, together with Mirko Menser, part of the poetry slam team “Parole Emil!”, with which she became Lower Saxony-Bremen poetry slam champion in 2022. In 2021, her first solo program “Neulich war gestern noch heute” (The other day was yesterday) was nominated for the St. Ingberter Pfanne cabaret award, and in 2022 it was awarded the Rostocker Koggenzieher in silver. In his laudatory speech, cabaret artist René Sydow said: “As beautiful and rich as the world of literature is, we only realize how great language really is when a master like this gets her hands on it.” In 2023, Blanke’s second solo program “Blankes Entsetzen!” (Blanke’s Horror!) premiered. It was awarded the Reinheimer Satirelöwen in bronze in the fall.

Leander Bauer

Leander Bauer tells short stories that mean a lot, in a wide variety of forms. Sometimes prosaic, sometimes lyrical, often funny, sometimes thoughtful, and occasionally all of these things at once.
His debut novel, Der Saboteur (The Saboteur), was published in 2022, followed a year later by the collection of texts Es gilt das Grunzgesetz (The Grunt Law Applies).
To date, he has been crowned U20 RLP champion three times, German-speaking U20 vice-champion in singles and U20 champion in team competition.
Away from the stage, Bauer works as a journalist and in the film industry. Since 2025, he has been studying at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF.
