Decolonial Gaming: The Talking Benin Bronzes is an interactive workshop format that invites pupils and young adults to explore the history, colonial looting, and restitution debates surrounding the Benin Bronzes in a playful way. Using a specially developed quartet card game, participants collect object biographies that speak in the first person, telling stories of the past, colonial injustice, the present, and possible futures. The format combines political education, historical learning, and creative participation — inviting participants to reflect together on colonialism, cultural heritage, and justice.
