Lange Nacht der Museen 2026
This year the Humboldt Forum is part of the Berlin Long Night of Museums. From 6 pm onwards, the Humboldt Forum looks forward to your visit.
After dusk you will enter the Schlüterhof through portals illuminated in rainbow colours, which as always invites you to linger. You will be able to see a concert of light shooting its beams far into the Berlin night sky from afar.
The foyer invites you to dance or chill to the rhythms of Emo Rugene during this long night. Enjoy a digital sea of colours played out for you by our media tower.
Get to know the entire house in one long night: In the Humboldt Forum you can expect a programme from the Humboldt Forum Foundation in the Berlin Palace, the National Museums in Berlin with the Ethnological Museum and the Museum of Asian Art, as well as the Stadtmuseum Berlin. Connect with the globe in BERLIN GLOBAL on an interactive tour during the Long Night of the Museums and experience how the city and its people are connected to the world – then and now. The exhibitions of the Ethnological Museum and the Museum of Asian Art of the National Museums in Berlin again offer very different views of past and present cultures of Africa, Asia and Oceania.
Descend to the historic remains of the Berlin Wall. Here you will find the oldest evidence of the site’s history. The exhibition offers a tour from the Middle Ages to the present day and takes you into the Sculpture Hall, where you can experience the original sculptures of the historic palace façade. The video panorama offers you an audiovisual overview of the history of the site! Also experience a spectacular view over the rooftops of Berlin: the roof terrace is open until 8 pm for the Long Night of the Museums. The visitor service awaits you in the staircase hall.
You are interested in the museums and would like to get a glimpse behind the scenes: Then you are welcome to join one or more circles of friends. They present themselves in the staircase hall and are available to answer questions.
When you have seen everything at the Humboldt Forum, an exclusive shuttle service is available: The Technik Museum’s Rolling Museum will take you directly from the Humboldt Forum to the Technik Museum in vehicles from the past.

Guided Tours
What stories do these cultural artefacts tell? Who should tell these stories – a museum in Berlin or the societies from which the ‘objects’ come? Which stories remain untold or unheard – and why? What significance do cultural belongings have for people in Tanzania and where does their future lie?
The exhibition was developed in collaboration with the National Museum of Tanzania and in discussion with representatives of various communities in Tanzania. The guided tour through the exhibition provides insights into the stories of origin of exhibits, addresses questions of restitution and sheds light on the handling of cultural belongings in museums today. Representatives from Tanzania have their say through film interviews in the exhibition. Views on current debates, e.g. on politics after Tanzanian independence or the renaming of colonial street names, round off the tour.

The short guided tour focuses on the watercolours of Indigenous artist Feliciano Lana from Brazil. His images tell of encounters between Indigenous people and white people on the upper Rio Negro and show colonialism and capitalism from a local and personal perspective. The presentation is complemented by works by contemporary Indigenous women artists and a video installation featuring Indigenous women eyewitnesses.

Did you know that there are several different Friends’ associations for the museums at the Humboldt Forum? The Friends are especially committed to supporting the individual focus areas of the museums and their collections — for example by publishing books and catalogues, organising guided tours, lectures and trips, and providing financial support to the museums. As a Friend, you gain exciting insights into the work behind the scenes. Get to know the different Friends’ associations: during the Long Night of Museums, they will present themselves and their activities in the Schlüterhof and at the entrances to the respective exhibition areas in the Humboldt Forum, and invite you to join a special tour through the collections.
