The Friends of the Ethnological Museum Berlin e.V. invite you to experience vibrant sounds among masks, sculptures, and stories from around the world: musicians with roots in Latin America and Africa bring selected works from the Ethnological Museum to life in 10-minute mini-performances — up close, intimate, and in dialogue with the audience.

When music becomes the language of the soul, her world begins. The Afro-Spiritual soul artist from Burkina Faso blends African traditions with contemporary sounds, creating a musical universe brimming with emotion, spirituality, and hope. With her unmistakable charisma, she takes her audience on a journey that moves, inspires, and lingers long after the final note has faded. She is a human rights advocate and, to that end, founded the “SIMA Association,” which fights against FGM (female genital mutilation), works to improve living conditions for people with albinism, and promotes education for disadvantaged children. She was nominated for the “Kundé 2018” in the category “Best Artist of the Burkinabé Diaspora.”
He blends West African traditions with spiritual rituals and Cuban theater, linking gender duality to the androgynous qualities of the gods. From the metamorphosis of cosmic forces emerge the four elements of his modern performance art: spirituality and reason, the archaic and the postmodern, soul and matter, life and the afterlife—all of which are revealed and united. The sensuality of his expression opens up new perspectives on reality for the audience. His artistic work embodies the synthesis of tradition and the avant-garde. An important component of his performance is the transcendence of established boundaries through the creation of flexibility and exchange between different social groups. To this end, he draws on his intensive training in contemporary dance, ballet, theater, and singing, which he combines with the centuries-old tradition of Santería shamanism, his spiritual foundation.
