Holiday workshop on the Humboldt brothers: Who were the Humboldt brothers? What inspiration do their lives and work offer us today? Following in the footsteps of Alexander von Humboldt, pupils explore his perspective on the world. Picture a place you’d love to show this famous explorer. What would it look like? What plants, animals or rocks would you find there?
In an imaginative exploration of the visual legacy of the Humboldt brothers, pupils can build and programme an augmented reality world on a tablet. Photographs and drawings of objects, plants and animals from the Humboldt brothers’ research are combined with the young people’s own digital creations. All this is transferred into an augmented reality with the software CoSpaces.
The worlds the participants create will be projected into the room via an app, and presented to the group.
