Context Not Available Zine

Das Context Not Available Zine ist Bestandteil eines mehrteiligen Kunstwerks, dass die Künstler*innen Charity Atukunda, Liz Kobusinge und Gloria Kiconco für die Ausstellung Geschichte(n) Tansanias im Humboldt Forum entwickelt haben.

Charity Atukunda ist bildende Künstlerin. Sie kritisiert, deutet und erforscht in ihrer Arbeit die Vorstellungen, Überzeugungen und Denksysteme, die unser Leben bestimmen.

Liz Kobusinge hat ihre künstlerische Praxis in ihrer Community ausgebildet. Sie versteht ihre Arbeiten als Rituale des Gedenkens, wenn sie aus mehreren Lagen handgeschöpften Rindenstoffpapiers, Tusche und Videoaufnahmen ein Bild davon erzeugt, wie die Haut Erinnerungen bewahrt und in der Welt verbreitet.

Gloria Kiconco ist Dichterin und kreiert Zines. Sie nutzt die Ethik der Zines, um durch unabhängige künstlerische Arbeit und den freien Austausch von Informationen und Fähigkeiten gesellschaftliche Ausschlusssystem infrage zu stellen.

Alle drei Künstlerinnen leben und arbeiten in Kampala, Uganda.

The Context Not Available Zine is part of a multi-part artwork that the artists Charity Atukunda, Liz Kobusinge and Gloria Kiconco have created for the exhibition Histories of Tanzania at the Humboldt Forum.

Charity Atukunda is a visual artist whose work aims to critique, understand, and explore the ideas, beliefs, and systems that govern our lives.

Liz Kobusinge is a community-taught artist who makes works as a ritual of remembrance, layering handmade barkcloth paper, dyes, and video to mimic how skin holds and disperses memory.

Gloria Kiconco is a poet and zine-maker who uses zine ethics to challenge gatekeeping systems through independent creation and the free exchange of information and skills.

All three artists live and work in Kampala (Uganda).
