Global Cultural Embassy

We are a collective of artists, scholars, curators, activists, and community representatives who work with the Humboldt Forum Foundation (SHF) and the Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz (Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation, SPK) in Berlin. 

The Global Cultural Embassy (GCE) responds to the responsibilities tied to cultural belongings and heritage that connect histories and regions, advancing a new framework for global collaboration as called for by the international partners over the course of the opening of the Humboldt Forum in 2022.

As an evolving process, the GCE seeks to build equitable partnerships between international collaborators, descendant communities, stakeholders, and the institutions within the Humboldt Forum. Together, we explore how cultural institutions can be reimagined through shared decision-making, co-creation and co-governance.

The GCE works toward a governance model that enables genuine and sustainable participation and co-determination in shaping institutional practices and futures.
